Editorial
Corrections Policy
Errors happen. When they do, we correct them quickly, transparently, and prominently.
How we handle errors
- Verify the error. Our editor reviews the complaint or internal flag against the original sources.
- Update the article. Factual errors are corrected directly in the text within 24 hours of confirmation.
- Add a correction note. An italic “Correction” notice is appended to the bottom of the article explaining what was wrong, what was corrected, and when. The note is permanent.
- Major errors trigger a separate notice. If a correction substantially alters the meaning of the story, we publish a standalone correction notice on our homepage for at least 48 hours.
What we correct
- Factual errors (names, dates, statistics, quotations)
- Misleading headlines or photo captions
- Outdated information labelled as current
- Errors of attribution
What we don’t change silently
We may update articles to add new information, clarify ambiguous phrasing, or improve readability. These updates are non-substantive and do not require a correction notice. We never silently remove or alter facts.
How to report an error
Email corrections@asiadailypost.com with:
- Link to the article
- Specific passage that contains the error
- Correct information, with sources if possible
We acknowledge every correction request within one business day.
Article retraction
In rare cases where an entire article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate or based on fabricated sources, we retract the article. Retracted articles are removed from the live site, replaced with a notice explaining the retraction, and listed on a public retractions page.
